A poem to a dear friend.
Maggie

A weight was set on her.
From the moment it began, it was consuming.
First it took her smile.
Then her hope.
Finally the light in her starry eyes.
The pain was promised to be over.
Promised to stop.
But soon the pain had friends.
Deadly friends.
Screaming.
Yelling.
Killing.
Running, running….
Through the night and to the bridge
Rush of blood and cars.
A few tears, a few prayers, a few memories.
Jump..
Leap..
Fall..
Soft, sweet, bright.
And then the pain stopped..
Given to others to share the pain.
To say goodbye.
