He has Risen: The view from one of Jesus' Disciples
They had told me, Lord,
That you were seen.
But not to me,
For worthy, I'd not been.

Beaten and nailed,
Left to die alone.
I said I didn't know You,
I cried 'What have I done?'

If You came back Lord,
What would I really say.
You would see my shame,
For the fear, I felt that day.

A distant figure
Beckons to me.
Is it someone I know,
I just cannot see.

Down on my knees Lord,
For I now know Your face.
Please forgive me,
As we meet in this place.

You ask if I love You,
I can love no one more.
I will tend Your sheep Lord,
Without love, we're so poor.

I ask, please don't leave us,
Lord, not on our own.
Please send us Your Promise,
To keep when you're gone.
