A poem about whether you should allow someone you love read your mind
If You Could Read My Mind

If you could read my mind…
it would be akin to a space mission
by going to where no man has gone before.

Among the many galaxies within my mind…
you could see Crayola colored stars
shooting massive fireworks for an encore.

Delving deeper, you might find…
a thousand paper moons with craters
cut with scissors of heart-break and tears.

If you could read my mind…
you would see my auras and pheromones
play hide and seek with yours.

Would you want to read my mind…
where there can be no pretentiousness
and you would see my essence and my vulnerabilities?

If you could read my mind…
would you comprehend wholly the knowledge
that, for me, my eternity is only with you?

It is a game of Russian roulette…
if you could
read
my
mind.
