A short poem about finding Paradise on Earth by walking away from your routine life.
Walking Away From It All

I am not crazy…
I just got sick and tired of living in today’s society.
I took my backpack with very few items…
And, easily, disappeared by walking away from it all.

I am alone…
But I am not lonely.

I have no house…
the wilderness is my home.

I have time…
there are no schedules for anything.

I have no money…
there is nothing to buy here.

I have no debts…
I don’t own anything.

I have plenty to eat…
There are berries, roots, greens, nuts, fish from the streams.

I have enough to drink…
Unpolluted, safe, crystal clear, nearly sweet water.

I have shelter…
Tree limbs tied with hemp.

I am now a happy and tranquil person…
I have become part of earth’s heavenly beauty which society wishes to destroy.

Mostly, I am wealthy beyond my wildest dreams…
I have a unique relationship with myself, peace, Earth, and God.
