Personification of a television
Longing for Your Touch

I have undergone
mad technological advances
for you,
but you no longer
touch me.

I have slimmed down
in an anorexic dream of being thin
for you,
but you no longer
touch me.

I have undergone
an excruciating crucifixion,
being screwed to the wall,
when you last
touched me.

Now you only touch
the wretched remote control,
a lover you hold close,
ceasing your need to
touch me.

I am not your “idiot box”,
therefore, I will hide
your precious remote,
so that you must, once again,
touch me.
