Remebrance of my mother for her first birthday after she had passed.

Just a Tree
#2088783 by SteveJK11

For Mom on her birthday April 22, 1998

At dawn you held us in your arms
Nurturing, holding, helping our dreams form
By believing in them
Your love fell like petals on our bodies

At mid-morning you placed us on the ground
Urging, carrying, hoping for our dreams to take hold
By believing in us
Your love fell like petals on our faces

At noon you held us in your arms
Consoling, worrying, needing our dreams to live
By believing in them
Your love fell like petals on our hands

In the afternoon you passed
Not worrying, not holding, but letting go
Our dreams are ours to believe in
Your love fell like petals on our tears

At dusk we stand alone
Nurturing, holding, helping our children’s dreams form
By believing in ourselves
Your love falls like petals on our thoughts

We plant this tree in your memory so that your love may
fall like spring upon your legacy.
