Whole lotta green going on.

Turtle, turf, a tennis ball;
shamrock hanging in the hall.
Alligator, birds and bugs,
many such domestic rugs.
Envy, seaweed, even slime;
refrigerated food in time.
Lettuce, Leprechaun, kiwis;
mucus from a sickly sneeze.
Maple leaf, cucumber, grapes;
comfort of my bedroom drapes.
Jade, turquoise, new growth in May,
progressive rock group, last name Day.
Olives, onions, Peter Pan;
GI Joe (that Army man.)
Yarn, zucchini, juicy pears;
laser-like, those jealous stares.
A parrot, bean, pistachio;
the traffic light that says to go.
Cabbage, frogs, fatigues all right;
Jell-O, limey!  Pure delight!
This poem is done--‘tis true, it’s lean;
examples (forty) shades of green.
