A Ballad-esque type poem about Queen Victoria of England and her husband, Prince Albert
Come all around, gather o'er here
Let me tell you of love
This story I'll tell
Many of you know nothing of

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

Heiress Presumptive she was
In 1836 when they met
Each seventeen they were
Not ready for marriage yet

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

At eighteen she became
Queen of UK and all thereof
From Prince Edward, Duke of Kent
Was Queen Victoria, daughter of

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

Her mother annoyed her
She wanted to be free
But the law said they'd live
Together till she married

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

From her diary we read
The way she describes him
"His beauty, his sweetness &
Gentleness" love full to the brim

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

Like all relationships
They had ups and had downs
But their love never faded
No matter how hokey it sounds

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

They married and they lived
With their children of nine
But if he was the tree
She was the vine

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
A great love did they see
Through trouble and tumult
Together they'd be

At forty-two he had died
The queen lost all her hope
For the rest of her life
She would mourn and she'd mope
