A girl goes out at night, unaware of what will become of her before the light.

Moon Shadow

Getting ready to see a show,
the night becomes all aglow.

I grab my house keys,
and some Jose' Cuervo.

My home is near a large meadow,
Just passed the beautiful towns, Chateau.

I stopped by a store,
and bought tickets for the lotto.

I figured, to better my chances,
I got a hundred dollar combo.

As I approached the grounds,
I must pass through a field of dandling willow.

The vines suddenly wrap around
my head, my hands, and torso.

Now standing motionless, entangled,
Caught from my big toe up to my hair bow.

Then the winds whisper. I hear,
a faint woman's voice, it says, 'Hello'.

I look around, but I
see not a single soul.

I feel scared as though,
I'm being followed by a Moon Shadow.

"Please let me go," I shout,
when a mysterious shadow knocks me out.

The blow was so hard,
it left parts of my head in the yard.

As I lay there bleeding,
my last thought was, why I was leaving?
