a nighttime experience with nature |
| "Midnight Magic from a Porch Swing" Back and forth, alone on a porch swing; my bare feet tapping to a playful dance in slow rhythm to the music of summer laughter rising from childhood memories. Meditative moments sang softly to moon's tune, with a chorus from tree frogs and katydids. Flitting, fluttering in fanciful flight, a carefree carnival-like caravan donned with tiny magical lanterns flickering a message; seemingly beyond my reach. I rose with the long ago giggles and rode on the night's sweet breath carrying me on a journey among gypsy fireflies. Sounds from their silent flutes, only I could hear, peacefully pierced my soul to accompany my resounding heartbeat. line count 17 |
