Objects that are iridescent, including ourselves
Iridescence

Tears, making a path down skin,
raindrops, rhythmically hammering the tin roof,
butterfly wings, as they flitter and flutter,
ice cubes, as they melt in a crystal glass,
radiance…

Snowflakes, as they fall full of grace,
lips, when joyfully kissed by a lover,
angels’ wings, as they travel from heaven,
rainbows, God’s promise to mankind,
luminousness…

Clouds, vying for position with the sun and moon,
diamonds, costly makers of tiny rainbows,
pearls, a tiny bit of sand will glow,
windows, the glass radiates with colors,
incandescence…

Our souls, the most iridescent of all,
a shimmering wisp of all colors,
of who we once were on earth,
and how we will be in eternity,
heaven…
