it's always you

it's always you
this is the door
instead of going in like this
you do this
look

the raised voices fizzle into mumbles
til another tone peaks up

you had the cake
and the bacardi's for your mother
but you never listen to things
when people have baby showers
you get them presents

back to the inside voices now
stifling, anticipating another outburst
