This is a letter to my father. If it turns out well enough, I may even share it with him.
Dear Dad –

I want you to know that I love you, that I am proud of you, and that I know that you have sacrificed a lot for me in your life. We have our disagreements, and those are mostly because we are so much alike. That's okay with me. I wish I would have hugged you more when I was growing up and that I had not been so difficult in my teenage years. I cannot take any of that back, however I can tell you now how much you mean to me, how much you have always meant to me, and how much I always wanted to make you proud of me so that you could be happy. I can hug you now, and trust me, I will. I know you worry about me and I worry about you too. So we are even. Thank you for being my dad and never giving up on me. I want you to know that I love you and I always will.
