I have been an explorer since my birth
I have traveled far and wide
I have traveled places on this Earth
I have seen the rising and ebbing tide.

I think I have seen the Grand Canyon too
Though I stayed way back from the edge
I simply adored Niagara's view
I watched it from the ledge.

There are places I would not explore
I just never really had the nerve
I have no desire to enter a coal mine's door
Nor to ever see the bending Earth's curve.

I will ride in planes aloft
Never from one would I jump
I do not believe the landing would be soft
My head I choose not to bump!

So there are places to explore still
Others I prefer to let go by
Perhaps I might visit if it be God's will
Some I will not even try.
