Our societal and spiritual best is never our least - a poem.
|Measuring each drop of sand
That flows through the hourglass
Can only mean safety and boredom;
Meanwhile the lucky few live
Extraordinarily busy and happy lives,
And those with no inspiring means
Produce excessive amounts
Of hereditary dishonesty.
But lasting changes in style
Provide much relief -
For as the pictures in the dictionary
Offer recognizable quality,
The kind of people we are
Is blatantly described
As beautiful and proper...
And that germination of seed
Will never grow strong and true
Towards the hiphalutin clouds;
It will lay forever in the darkness
With its grand, wide-open territory...
