a writer's cramp entry written while avoiding the twenty-first letter of the alphabet

Oh second is nasty,
a terrible voice
it grates on the ear,
it poses a choice
to the reader:
will I take these opinions as mine
or fight against leading—
my mind is not thine!

it can be done well,
that indeed can be said
yet most do it poorly—
preach sermons instead
of moving the tale
where it wants to be led.

I daresay that some one
will find a new way
to take apart all
of these things that I say—
still, before those fine people
prove how errored my view,
I dare them to say it
while lacking a
reference to the
twenty-first letter
of the alphabet.
