Lord in this hospital I'm visiting a friend
And I'm very grateful she is on the mend
I look around and others suffering I see
Dear Lord don't let this happen to me.

Please don't let me grow old
Let me wear bright colours and be bold
I don't care if the town is talking
Just keep my legs walking

Lord forgive me for not wanting to care
Call me when my faculties are still all there
And when you call
I don't want to fall

Let me skip up to heavens stair
Not in a lift that takes you in a char
I'll follow your footsteps and let them be light
Lord hear my prayer don't let me grow old
