Something to remember someone who is no more.
|Walked without fretting,
and meandered into the peace.
Two decades of living,
short but amazing;
how I wish that time could cease.
Here's to the fool who dreamed.
Crazy as he may've seemed.
Here's to the lives he'd heft.
Here's to the holes he's left.
He'd found a meaning,
a whole new beginning,
A shot at a future so bright.
He had a way with people,
and climbed the top steeple.
I'll always remember the height.
And here's to the king and queen.
Reigning on hearts they'd been.
Here's to the tapes they spooled.
Here's to the heart she ruled.
And he taught me:
a bit of laughter is key,
to face life with humility.
And who knows where love may lead us;
without it there's no us.
If love had no power, there would be no shower,
of tears and petals on this grave.
And here's to that friend who loved.
In savages who was a dove.
Here's to the friend who's missed.
Here's to the souls he kissed.
I trace it all back to that,
Him and the bike and the crash,
Lost was that laughter, until the hereafter,
In a flash.
I wrote this when I was in a disturbed and pensive mood, as I listened to "Fools who dream" from "La La Land". These lyrics have been written to fit into the tone and structure of the said song. Give singing it a shot, if you wish!
