Occasion card: Romantic poem about an inspiring friendship, love and bond.
WHAT YOU MEAN

1

You give me a reason to dream

You make me want to try, and to take risks

You make me want to keep going

because I feel you out there, trying so much harder

2

If we had never met, the color in my days would have greyed

They would have washed, with tears of terrible sameness, and less wonder

Nights would have been bleak, and pointless, and hollow

I wouldn’t have found this wonderful person, who makes me want to try

who loves me regardless of my obviously obnoxious faults, and failures

3

You, who challenges me to overcome myself

You, who completes my family

Puzzle pieces would be missing

I would break, like porcelain

I am the torn paper to your indispensable glue

4

All I know is, if we were characters in the film Titanic

we would be Jack, and Rose!

Your friendship, our bond, our potentials

they are all, undeniably concrete

5

You make me dream of the person I could be

How I strive to reach my potential

To become your ultimate counterpart

To make you smile on your deathbed, and say

“I loved that person, more than anyone, or anything; and, I am so glad that we were!”

Thank you, for making me want to try ridiculous things, like write this

Thank you for being you!
