Ancient scribe fought his fight in a ghazal,
and scholars sought the light in a ghazal.

When political debates got heated,
opponents bottled spite in a ghazal.

Before he made swift retreat, maiden tried
chronicling naughty knight in a ghazal.

Raucous flock of geese passed in formation,
and poet caught their flight in a ghazal.

We'll paint glowing Carolina sunrise
with apricot delight in a ghazal.

If adverse happenstances get you down,
you really ought to write in a ghazal.

For one brief moment, the shining symbol
of Camelot will brighten a ghazal.

Asked to share a few perspectives on life,
Granddaddy thought he might in a ghazal.
