This article is a brief of finding living abodes on other planets.
Living on planet earth has always been a pleasant experience we cherish and would love to stay on our planet at any cost. The question is if we were to make our abode on some distant planet in some distant star system. This is all the more important if we were to face an impending calamity on earth like a disastrous tsunami or just to have an alternative place to live. We would be both curious and apprehensive. As humans we are in need of our three necessities, namely: air, water and food. This are necessities we cannot do without. Finding earth like planets with an atmosphere, matching gravitational field, air and water with plenty of food is going to be a challenge. The nearest star system is Alpha Centauri and it is 4.3 light years away. Present technology does not allow us to travel at a speed matching the distance to reach the star system at a understandable time frame.

The Star Trek adventures on television is perhaps how our search for other planets in the future might be like. A spaceship travelling at a good speed and encountering different planetary systems, people or space phenomena might be a possibility. If an encounter with alien beings happen we would have to take account of their possible hostility towards us. This is another challenge one might have to face to be able to live on another planet. Also, planets with habitation might be a good candidate to settle down. If we are able to communicate with other alien beings on other planets we might have better information of life on other planets. The question is when will this first contact happen. Will alien beings be cordial towards us? Will they be able to accept us as one of them and share their technology and resources with us.
