finding balance
Balance

Driving home after work,
mired in the world's mess
a primal scream frees my chest.
"No, no, no, to you, and you, and you."
Arriving home, I open the door, climb the stairs,
submit to a date with eternity.
I scrub and rinse the copper pot
I have picked to hold my ashes.
"Yes, and yes, and yes".
