They knew it was beyond friendship and definitely not love.
He didn't keep staring at her,
She didn't think of him all day long.
All they did was just sit and confer,
even when the clocks did ding dong.

She never called him handsome,
And he never spoke about her to his friends.
Their conversation was always gruesome,
mocking and talking dirty trends.

He knew that she had a lot of fellows
to whom she could sit and share her views.
But all these people made him feel jealous
and when she spoke about them, his thoughts froze.

She stood by him, no matter what others spoke,
She felt so lively and she could be herself with him around.
After all, they knew that it was beyond friendship,
and definitely not love.
