Watching a doe in the park.
|The Doe In the Park
I sat alone in the park,
alone, listening to the silence,
watching in the dusk;
then I see her.
She pauses for a moment,
looks around at her surroundings,
solitary on the side of the road,
as she grazes on the tall grass.
Still as a statue, I watch
in wonder at her bravery;
she shows no fear of the cars
that speed past her feeding spot.
The peaceful quiet demeanor
she exhibits leaves me at ease,
and as I watch her cross the road,
I feel serenity envelope my spirit.
As she disappears into nearby woods,
I start my car, ready to leave the park,
ready to face the world, determined
to keep this peaceful feeling.
