Just Feeling contemplative
Thine Eyes Behold
By David Paul Hartman

What is it that we do when we wake?
Do we not take for granted our existence still?
Do we not give so that we can take?
Or maybe we boast of our integrity and skill?
Are we not blind to deeds of our own?
Do we not see the wrongs that we do?
Is it not true that we reap what is sown?
Do we not point the finger, then say who?
Do we not judge before it sits right?
Are we free to condemn when we do not know?
Can we justify fighting while sitting tight?
Do we not laugh when the high become low?
Who can say what is right and what is wrong?
Do we not shame the elderly and old?
Dare we think that life is to long?
Then change and let thine eyes behold.
