Melodies of Remembrance
Clip art for my use

Rain's Harp Has Many Strings:

Melodies of Remembrance

Recalling the angelic voice of a soprano
The splendor of a Haydn symphony
Rain's melodious harp has many strings
Hudson River with its vision of waking
A rippling tide of river voices sing

Far north on the Maine coast
The channel bells ring boldly
Like a hammered dulcimer quivers
Nor'easter winds and rain cause
The towering lighthouse to shimmer

A faint mist hovers in the evening air
Over New York's Lake Mohonk
Showers creep in ever so slowly
The song thrush sings her lullaby
Canyon walls echo sweet and lowly

Returning to Yellow Springs Pennsylvania
March days are grey wet and somber
While the last of daylight's falling tears
And wind's elegant string instruments
Reprise a concerto of yesteryears

Celebrate Tefnut lioness goddess of rain
She cools life's burning aches and sorrows
With a melody of remembrance
Mutating the rain cloud's tomorrows

*Tefnut is recorded as the ancient Egyptian
religious goddess of rain and water
