A poem about finding old memories which you had forgotten about
A box full of memories.
Filled with quotables, aphorisms,
& never ending documentaries.
Small & large photos all crammed inside.
Album on album left him agape
Letters & letters of tales of roaming citywide,
Pictures & paintings of all surrounding landscapes.
He gazed through them all, flipping to & fro,,
Inquisitively investigating every scene he had seen.
Places he used to explore, lakes & arroyos ,
Drinks, parties, & obligatory fires with kerosene.
Looking back through the times,
Some good, some bad, some he couldn't remember.
Typical high school typical teenager, fitting all the paradigms,
Finding old film of randomness he filmed with an old camcorder.
Thoughts racing through every inch of his brain,
"How are they doing? Do they remember these moments?" He asks rhetorically.
Feelings crashing through, hitting like a hurricane.
Upon each and every new find he shouts enthusiastically-
"I remember that! Oh what a fun day."
Laughing from days from his past.
Nights filled with excitement, staining his prom tux with chardonnay,
Back to the days where the weather was sunny, never overcast.
