They told me that I was too skinny,
I’d never have mass sex appeal,
Girls wouldn’t give a fig for my songs,
No one thought about how I would feel.

I almost believed what they told me,
But something said just keep on trying,
Then I put aside my doubts and fears,
Soon, it was my name they were crying.

I was shocked at what happened myself,
Women rushed the stage when I performed,
They shed tears of joy and screamed for me,
When over, I was virtually swarmed.

I grew confident and vain it seems,
Lived life to the max, had no regrets,
Made a few stumbles but rose back up,
Dismissed the reporter’s slurs and threats.

The best revenge is massive success,
They didn’t believe in me. Oh well!
I proved them wrong, I rose to the top,
If you ask me, I think I did swell!
