A Mango is a delicious fruit, yet different than I thought it would be
Happy looking fruit
all yellow and red
beckoning me from the grocery ad
only 35 cents for each
and bigger than a peach

I couldn't wait to see
just how it would be
under its colorful peel
wondering
what it would reveal

I sliced into it
just bought from the store
I cut a big piece
so tropical and bright
expecting a delight

But then my mouth was in shock
it tasted like Christmas
it tasted like pine
the yummiest juiciest pine
so I didn't whine

Simply divine.
