From the heart of a cheater. Fictional poetry. |
| Voice bellows across the lake. The future has been robbed. Life in limbo, dost forsake. My Beauty's heart has sobbed. To attain what might fulfill, I let go of my plight. I lost control of my will on this romantic night. Beauty stands upon the dock. She's calling out my name. Though I hear, I cannot lock this brand new inward flame. Deception dons thin, black lace and heels upon the feet. Makeup on an oval face, and Beauty has been beat. Dance before a roaring fire with slow and sultry moves pulls me from lethargic mire. Treachery has the grooves. Beauty sits upon the dock, her head between her knees. Not a thought of whom to mock. My heart's ears hear her pleas. The sound of my Beauty's cries ignites me at my core. I listened to Satan's lies like I've not done before. I dash home and find Beauty, but now her eyes have dried. It's too late, tonight, for me. My date made her decide. |
