Ever felt like there was a hole in your soul?
Bleeding from the inside out
A self-inflicted gash
Hardened during this drought
Reduced oneself to ash
Mourning from a barren tomb
Striving to mend this ruptured soul
The death of an inner bloom
Remains a wretched murky hole
An overflowing coffee cup
His gentle morning nudge
It’s easier to keep my chin up
As we begin our daily trudge
Pen blue painted gratitude
A draft of thirsty prayer
Gift me a spirit of servitude
In this battle of sacred warfare
