Writer's Cramp Entry 30 Lines
30 Lines - Prompt: Misunderstanding a well known poem and applying it to something else. (August 21, 2017 Eclipse)

How did it get late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get late so soon? Dr. Seuss

The morning paper printed this poem,
just a small portion of a Dr. Seuss tome,
A secret is hidden Fred Baxter did moan.
It's the eclipse in code, his eyes start to roam,
to decipher it's message before time has flown.

He thinks about sleep, what's a man gonna do?
When darkness appears before afternoon.
One day he can manage, but not more than two,
but the message is coded a complete switch-er-roo.
He thinks about sleep, what's a man gonna do?

He must tell his friends, it just can't be so,
December comes early, will there be snow?
Ere June is the date for Santa's ho-hos?
Just mark your calendar and then try to show,
your holiday spirit, eclipsed with gung-hos.

Fred Baxter's amazed, it's hard to believe,
his clocks will grow wings and just up and leave.
He must share the news, so people can see.
Their clocks take to flight like artist Dali's.
Fred Baxter's amazed, it's hard to believe.

How did it get late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get late so soon? Dr. Seuss
