Sadness found in the wind
This item was written for the Game of Thrones writing challenge.
1st Place Winner, Week 1 Games of Thrones, Poetry

Light dances on the cloud above.
Tears fall on the shadow below.
Her scarf flutters in the wind.
He stiffens his shoulders next to the cold metal.

Men and women rush around them.
The whistle echoes in the wind.
Soft hand on hard cheek, brief as a whisper.
The steel beast trudges forward.

He rushes to jump on.
She races after.
Click-Clack; Click-Clack.
Off to war he goes.
She stops, she shakes;
Her scarf flies away in the wind.
