Looking at a photo of my Grandad. A poem of sorts...
GRANDAD

I haven’t seen you for a while now
Actually, it’s been a few years
I do say hello when I see your photos
You always smile back
You don’t look old to me
And you never will

I remember
That squint in your eye
As cigar smoke blew across your face
Playing football in the garden

When Nan wasn’t watching
Sneaking me ham, cheese or 20p
You saved me once from those bullies
Remember?
I remember

I look again at your photo
You’re smiling
So am I
