If I Went Back To School
I decided to go back to school after a long period of time.

Not only was I older but, everything had changed.

1. You don’t write cursive.
2. You don’t use books, you have electronic tablets
3. In History Class I realized I had become a part of History
4. The girls were too young.

As I would walk the halls the kids would call me old man.

I had been through presidents all the way back to Dwight D. Eisenhower. I had seen wars and events that they could only read about.

I had been through the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Bobby Kennedy.

I watched the news when Grissom, Chaffey, and White were killed in that awful fire when the rocket they were strapped in went up in flames

I had seen first-hand mankind take his first step on the moon.

I experienced the changes through close to 6 decades. The music, the styles, the speech.

We went from hippies to millennial.

I have seen things that these kids will never get to experience. I would be in a whole different world.
