re-finding an ole' friend.
Off The Shelf

I remember you,
Our talks, by far, too few.
In your face total comfort to see
all about you seems familiar to me

Your blue eyes tell a story
Of times of toil and worry
Also in those same blue eyes
A love of life comfortably lies

Standing there no words need be said
entangled, dangling by a thread
Are questions ask, though never spoke,
no mumbles or rumbling in the throat.

Looking at you looking at me
wondering where my life should be
The time is now to live life fully
to let my heart beat wild and freely.

Lean in closer to investigate
I smile, knowing it's not too late.
"Too Long I have put you on a shelf."
I say to the mirror, out loud to myself!
