Just tapping my shoes here
This fellow does not dance, though I've tried
And maybe you would be surprised
At all the moves I keep inside

While waiting, sometimes my syncopated stride
Sails happy feet over a strewn-wheat slide
A shuffle of my ghillies in a gilded glide

With an Irish stomp, I fall downhill
And duck my troubles with bucks & bubbles
And rhythmic raps of flip-floppy thrill

I kick the clicky bucket with my slap shoes
In harmonic hullabaloo to your didgeridoo
Then end my bojangle with a timely step-in-poo

This comedic mishap in sync with a snap
As my toe points low and my hoofer heel
Pounds the sounds until you feel the appeal

My arms swing forward and open wide
My chest heaves at the end of this ride
And I rest my weary feet on the side

Because if I'm gonna do nothing with you
But stand idly by and tap my shoes
Then at least I wanna do a good job of it
