No More Fear

So much happiness now
no more fear
no more tears
they're gone from here

Smiles and glimmers of hope
as she gazes out the window
have become the regular face
on the boy she hoped he'd be


Changed from a weak young child
not matching anyone's wiles
growing into a man
without the meekness instilled

Gone from the past
mean teachers and bullies
being stepped on and beaten
scared to be repeated


Moving on and out of the fear
no more retreating
into the joy of living
Mother no longer draws near

The boy can now be left on his own
confidence is on his face
she turns from the window
with happiness on her face
