Course description below...

Topic for October:

Elements of Freeverse Poetry

In this class we will discover the form of poetry called free verse. Or, verse libre, if you are a fancy pants.

Elements of Freeverse Poetry will cover the basics and give examples, and there will be opportunities to write to prompts. Poets to consider for this course are Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman and William Carlos William, to name a few.

Don't worry. You do not need to buy text books or read through entire tomes of instructional materials or collections of poetry. The only aim is to keep it simple and straight forward. The goal is to share as WDC members and discuss reactions and experiences to the course subject.

We only cover elements of it. We will likely not leave here masters of it. Hopefully, newly envigorated as poets and writers, we'll leave feeling enlightened.

Stay tuned for more details about this four week course with limited seating. Updates will include specific course topics.
