I can't resist. it's painful.
the plot bunnies are out tonight
hopping through my tale.
it is a truly awful sight:
when a writer wants to write
and nothing seems to plot quite right—
a mess of bunny trails.

I followed one, and wrote until
(my concentration blown)—
a character I thought to kill
is now essential to fulfill
a prophesy I wrote—but still
my hero’s stuck at home.

and eighty pages later, I
must find MY plot anew.
oh, plot bunnies—oh why? oh why!
why won’t your tricksy decoys die?
I never learn. I always try.
why do I follow you?
