an Ovillejo poem from the crypt.
How could I succumb to that lout?
I must get out!
How can I make my getaway
from dead man's bay?
This false interment cannot fly,
or else I'll die.

He knocked me out with drugs he'd buy,
then put this tag upon my toe.
They thought I was deceased, and so
I must get out from dead man's bay or else I'll die.

Author's note: The Ovillejo is a ten-line verse first introduced by Miguel de Cervantes in his novel Don Quixote, constructed as described and demonstrated in the following link: http://www.paularcher.net/translations/miguel_de_cervantes/ovillejos.html .
