Line count 24

Have you ever wondered
Do I really exist
Or am I a figment of one's imagination
A vapor lost in the mist

If they wake
Will I disappear
When I cry out in the darkness
Does anyone really hear

Are all my hopes and dreams
A part of a subconscious play
Will I vanish into the void
With the dawn of a new day

Dream on dear dreamer
So I may continue to be
I feel that Dawn's approaching
Sleep so I can be free

I rage against the dying of night
I plead with the coming of day
I want nothing more than to be
I don't want to fade away.

My eyes open as the sun peaks in
I'm still here, and not cast into the deep
With joy I awake
But is the dreamer still asleep
