Poem about random thoughts

Line count 20

Have you ever wondered
Do I really exist
Or am I a figment of one's imagination
A vapor lost in the mist

Are all my hopes and dreams
A part of a subconscious play
Will I vanish into the void
With the dawn of a new day

Dream on, dear dreamer
So I may continue to be
I feel that dawn's approaching
Sleep, so I can be free

I rage against the dying of night
I plead with the coming of day
I want nothing more than to be
I don't want to fade away.

My eyes open as the sun peaks in
I'm still here, and not cast into the deep
With joy, I awake
But is the dreamer still asleep
