A poem about how much I love my granddaughter
You pull on my heartstrings
Every single day
Like a puppet who’s learning
To romp and play
In the yard of his master
Where toys galore
Are spread around the room
All over the floor.

I can’t come to see
From where she roams
The girl who’s pulling
On my heart of stone
I want to push
All my troubles aside
And wait for love
To push out my pride.

But there are times
When I love her so
From the top of my head
To the tip of my toes
That I can’t see trouble
Resting by my side
But I always know
She’s going to be alright.
