An article on the burning topic of “# Me Too”
The volcano was there for all to see except those blind. It appeared extinct for all appearances, it having been dormant for quite a while. But one fine morn, it gave a portent of impending eruption by spewing ashes and sending out gray clouds of smoke into the sky at infrequent intervals. It was seen by all, yet the warning went unheeded.
And one fine day, it erupted with vehemence, oozing the liquid lava, scorching and burning to cinders everything around.
The volcano had to erupt and it did causing extensive damage, catching people unawares.
It had been raining torrents and the massive river was slowly rising. Within days, the water level at the dam started rising at an alarming rate. A few sluice gates were opened to let the pressure on the walls of the dam ease and the excess surging, belligerent waters to escape. Soon more gates had to be opened to let the waters out, as the inflow seemed never to reduce.
And one fine morn, the floodgates collapsed under the unexpected pressure and force of the seething waters.
Yes, it was waiting to happen; here again the warnings were not heeded and the inevitable happened.
Likewise, the pent up fury and the long-suppressed anger of many who have suffered indignities at the hands of the powerful and the high-profile burst into a scorching blaze of fire to burn and blacken their countenance and put their future in limbo. The earlier occasional warnings went unheeded. The emergence of #Me Too” was inevitable.
