Sound of Silence

A mind so full of thoughts but often you cannot single out one thought.

Noise can be loud
But silence can be deafening.
It drowns out everything,
It plays with your thoughts.
Nothing is louder,
Nothing more powerful,
Than the sound of silence.

Silence lets your mind take over;
It lets all the thoughts come out,
the thoughts you wanted to stay hidden,
the ones you thought you had repressed.

It says everything,
But at the same time, nothing.
Or, nothing out loud anyway.

The mind searches for quiet,
but none can be found
when silence is at play.
It's all consuming and
there is no escape
from the sound of silence.
