"Ignore my plaintive plea. Leaving a blackness where my soul used to be."
Take my heart.
Wrench it with your two hands.
Dangle it on a thread
as I bow to your commands.

Comfort me
with your lies and deceit
lovingly nurtured and grown
with jealousy's insidious seed.

Welcome me
into thy arms of wood and grit,
atop a pillow of rock and moss
demanding that I submit.

Go on.
Ignore my plaintive plea.
Leaving a blackness
where my soul used to be.

No more,
screams a mind
that has seen too much
and is now resigned.

Leave me now.
Go on your way
as I furtively watch you
find another heart to betray.
