The contradiction between what my body wants and what my brain decides it's going to do.

So why when I just want to sleep
My brain it stays awake
I know my body needs to rest
My life it is at stake

On TV the other day
They said that lack of sleep
Was dangerous, shortened lives
It makes me want to weep

For what my body wants so much
Eludes me, drifts away
I might get in a nap or two
What more can I say

Except that it would be so good
To sleep for a long time
No waking for no reason
Then life would be sublime

However, there's no sandman here
No tired, weary eyes
The bed that I should be in now
Forlorn and empty lies.
