Vile Rain

England is freezing over,
The temperature drops
Heavy,
Like a stone.

I've gone
From 29 degrees
To zero
In a matter of weeks,
My tan flaking from
My skin like snow,
Stomach sick
With the cold.

But then-
I'm not in Syria.
The bombs
Keep on falling;
A vile rain.
They run for cover,
Screaming in the streets.
Children caught
Amidst the barbaric fire

But I've got the heating on,
My clothes in the dryer-

I sip my wine.

Actually

I suppose I'm pretty fucking lucky.
