Musical Grazing Into The Horizon |
| Blue Ridge Banjo Closed our eyes and everything changed and the banjo played upstairs; Big trucks disturbed the quiet Cows just stood their ground and stared Opened our hearts to try to forgive and the banjo played upstairs; Moving dirt to and fro and the basset hound snored in rhythm It was grand.... Beckoned our better natures and the banjo played upstairs; Daffodils didn't know the difference ~ winding trails took us home Welcome our souls into a certain cattery and the banjo played upstairs; Spring turned into summer Shenandoah River never fails It was super fine... Kissed one final mountain view goodbye Peace blankets the vista; Bovines grazing into the horizon Let the banjo stay upstairs Into the silence we go... 23 Lines This poem is entered in "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest" |
