Mother of my soul
Can you see what you have done?
This piece that you have wrought
That you have raised
That you have bought?
Mother of my soul
Do you know what life you lived?
Do you know what life you lived for
Cared for
Sent for
Died for?
Never gave a life for?
Mother of my soul
Will you ever be again
A mother to my mother,
or a friend to my own friend.
Give me alms, mother
Give me aid to see the light.
I can't live forever without a pain or plight.
Mother of my soul
Take me home to you.
Help me hope for my return
Help me learn to love a few.
